I don’t want sex

Are you somebody who doesn’t want sex, but you don’t really understand why? Are you somebody who doesn’t want sex, but you find it hard to talk about your feelings or the reasons that you have, not only to yourself, but to your partner? Is the fact that you don’t want to have sex creating significant relationship difficulties, leading to unpleasant conflict? Have you lost relationships because you don’t want to have sex? Are you feeling frustrated and fearful about the fact that you don’t want to have sex?

Somebody who doesn’t want to have sex often has complicated roots in childhood and their exposure and education to sexuality and eroticism. Both, men and women, can suffer from this issue. Oftentimes, couples who start out having a very strong and healthy sex life and then over time, one person stops wanting to have sex. Their explanations are vague and unsatisfying, they often withdraw or avoid sex and avoid talking about it.

The other partner is often initiating sex and being turned down. There is no explanation or practical solutions around techniques, scheduling it, timing it do not work. Couples pretend that it isn’t an issue until it becomes an issue, hoping that it will magically correct itself or go away.

If this sounds familiar to you, there is help and solutions to it. All in the Family Counselling Centre Pte. Ltd. and lead therapist, Tammy Fontana, have extensive experience working with couples or individuals who don’t want to have sex.

Therapy is a safe way for people to heal and understand themselves, learn how to understand what they like, what they want, set boundaries and be effective in communicating and negotiating the kind of sex that they would like to do.

All in the Family Counselling Centre recognizes not everybody is ready for couple counselling or sexual therapy. Therefore, we have created educational talks addressing the issue around sex and sexuality. Our educational talks are designed online, so that you can view them with anonymity and privacy in your own home. They allow you to directly interact with the therapist and ask questions confidentially and get the information you need to start more effectively addressing this issue for yourself and your relationship.

We provide thoughtfully taylored confidential education classes. We realize not everyone is ready for therapy. Visit our website to learn about these: https://allinthefamilycounselling.com/educational-group-work

Our educational series can lead a path to doing individual or couple counselling. It can also lead a path to attending our Croatia retreats in which we translate what you are learning into experiences.
