Arranged marriage and no sex
Have you recently been in an arranged marriage and you are not having sex? After six months of courting an arranged partner that concluded in marriage, have you found your sex life non-existant or difficult? Are you confused as to why marriage is not causing your sex life to happen? Have your attempts at sex been disappointing, frustrating, embarrassing? Has talking to family members not been able to be helpful in how to solve and address your sexual mismatch and problems? Arranged sex and marriage is more complicated than you thought and do you want answers?
Arranged marriages in Southeast Asia and India are in common pratice. Many couples are connected and meet each other and spend anywhere from six to twelve months to get to know one another, in which they meet their families, they talk online and they answer questions. Often concluding in a good match and marriage within a six to twelve months period.
As a result, unfortunately, even though people feel as though they know each other through talking, upon moving in together they realise how much they don’t know about each other. And unfortunately, having sex with a stranger, even if you have talked to them for six to twelve months, turns out to be a difficult task. Sex requires very good self-awareness about sex, the process, self-reflection, introspection on what you like and what you don’t like, and a comfort and ease to communicate that with a partner who is also comfotable about it.
Unfortunately, people getting into marriage, arranged or otherwise, often lack a lot of practical knowledge about marriage and about how sex works in a marriage.
All In The Family Counselling Center understands this and we have created a series of educational talks designed to address questions and create solutions and pathways for people to start creating the foundation of sex in their arranged marriage. We recognize that not everybody is ready for therapy and we also recognize talking about sex is very private and embarrassing.
We provide thoughtfully taylored confidential education classes. We realize not everyone is ready for therapy. Visit our website to learn about these: https://allinthefamilycounselling.com/educational-group-work
Therefore, we have designed our educational talks to be online with anonimity as a priority at maximum information as key. Our online platforms allow people to be anonymous, keep it confidential and at the same time interactive, where you can ask the therapist lots of questions, either through email, chat or asking in person.
Our online educational series are designed to address questions that couples are facing in arranged marriages, about their sex, about communication, about setting boundaries, about how sex works and what is required to create a healthy sex life. If you would like to learn more, contact us at tammy@allinthefamilycounselling.com to learn more about our educational talks, individual couple therapy or our retreats.
Our educational talks create a pathway where you can engage in individual or couple therapy or you can apply what you are learning through our carefully constructed experiential holidays that create experiences for couples to learn about themselves or each other.
